Menci Software announces StereoSpace, the new product oriented to 3D stereo view.

StereoSpace is the software specifically developed to bring photography up to a new level: from now you may expand the horizon of perception by adding a third dimension to your pictures!

Menci Software made the most of the innovative Fujifilm FinePix Real 3D camera, developing a photogrammetric application that matches both amateur and professional’s requirements: actually, StereoSpace allows you to automatically create 3D pictures that will add depth to your memories or, your choice, use its powerful CAD tool to extract measures from an image, draw on it, and export in popular formats.

Specifically engineered for any situation in which superior descriptive level is required, StereoSpace comes with everything you need to shoot wonderful 3D pictures that you can measure and visualize on a common tv or pc monitor.

Capturing an ancient monument’s features for scientific purposes, making inspections or insurance documentation, or simply making holiday pictures “come alive”, is today possible with StereoSpace.

The event was about numismatic and study of ancient coins in order to catalog and to check their authenticity.

Sara Michelazzo from University of Ferrara published her thesis named "Caratterizzazione chimica e micro strutturale di manufatti antichi in lega di rame: armatura imperiale romana e medaglioni rinascimentali".

The thesis is on the analysis of ancient copper handiworks, like a roman armour and renaissance medallions. The analysis and comparison work was done by different technologies.

ZScan Micro was used  to develop some micro structural comparison analysis, in order to evaluate the construction links between copper medallions.

The Z-Map Photo video tutorial is available in the FTP/download area for registered users.

Z-Map Photo is the Menci Software Photogrammetric station, which includes specific carthographic procedures.

The tutorial shows some of the most common features:

- Internal orientation

- External orientation

- Flight plan and drawing functions

- Orthophoto, cutting lines and mosaic 

- Contour Lines and profiles generation

Z-Block is a ZScan extension that allows to bundle several 3D model generated by ZScan, placing them in a global shared coordinate system.

The result is a 3D model where each sub cloud got its right position.

All the work is done automatically in a batch process! You can optionally submit control points.

Z-Block is compatible with current ZScan software version 1 too. It requires image triples got with at least 50% of overlapping area between a triple and the next one.
