ZScan is used in biomedical applications too, like a body scanner.

What ZScan can do

ZScan technology allows to:

- acquire 3d models with high-fidelidy colors of skin and wounds, for the documentation and analysis of human body parts.

- acquire subjects on the move. Data acquisition process doesn't require a static positioning of the subject.

- use data produced by several sensors (like IR, UV or thermal cameras) overlapping them on 3d models.

Acquisition time is really fast: equal to a digital camera shot-time.

Working area is 20x20 cm at 1 meter distance. Resolution obtained is about 1 mm with an accuracy of 0.5 mm.

Is possible to export 3d models to many different open source file format. ScanView is the free viewer that allows you to view and measure ZScan models.

Samples (Animal meat)

Here two sample 3d model (about 22.000 points). Applying the texture on 3d model you can get a digital camera fidelity in the reconstruction of surfaces and colours.

With a standard PC the processing time is about 1 minute. This samples are downloadable from www.menci.com website for registered users. Registration to website is free.
